2012 WAS...

2012 FOR ME?

This year was just apparently not good.. I confess I lived experiences (some of these weren't necessarily pleasant or enjoyable, but with hindsight, I realise they forced me
to refocus my priorities,
to shape, day by day, my own philosophy,
to turn my usual vision of facts into a new one which leads me to limit contrasts in every field.
and
to work on acceptation, with wisdom (that is very very hard to me!)

So I wish to all my followers, my friends a Serene New Year!

MARTINE GOES TO MILAN

Sometimes, I like going for a malsain lèche-vitrines in the centre of Milan, right in the places where all the tourists usually go. Yes! I really like the bain de foule and quite appreciate its frantic atmosphere, its crowded shops, its bars & its noisy streets, even its dirty underground!

So, I had fun last Friday

walking in the snowy town

visiting the Christmas department at the Rinascente and not only...

having lunch at Okibà with Mozzarella di bufala, carciofi and a glass of Morellino

having a drink at the splendid Art Déco Arengario

all this accompanied by the patient and whistling boyfriend ♥

and bringing home my reasonable shopping.

MARTINE IS PAINTING

Since I 've explored and been living in the blogosphere, I've discovered the  Scandinavian design (for which Ikea is giving us a little and precious aperçu), following blogs like The House That Lars Built, Anna Gillar, Artilleriet, Helten Kelt (see my blogroll to visit them).
The distinctive features are the purity combined with the ingenious functionality but also a manichaean idea of the colours : black or white or B/W. I confess that I'm really hypnotized by that aesthetic expression and I've begun to be attracted by black furniture which is a big evolution for me as I'm addicted to White!
So, yesterday I painted an old classic chair (which was abandoned in the garage) in a beautiful deep opaque balck, using a paint spray. It's easier, faster and the result is fantastic!
